I Wish...
by anonymous
To spin out, lean away, call it quits.
To be arboreal, amongst the Angsana and Banyan,
taking long naps in high heat, peering down
at the life I left behind.
Forget about money, forget about work,
about masks, disease, death and sorrow.
But yet, it is also the wondrous feeling of smallness that I get
looking up at the boughs of tall trees, awestruck,
understanding my place in the world, and
love,
love,
love,
that keeps me tethered.
